Abstract
The author showed that by the term „nature” we can understand the way of functioning characteristic for a given organism, its actions, its way of existence, life and development. If we recognize that the world (and everything that exists in it) was created by God, then the nature of specific things can be viewed as a project invented by the Creator. Both inanimate and animate nature were designed according to the God’s idea. The human being also received his nature from God – he finds it, does not choose it; it is a gift that needs to be „unsealed”, to be known, one must learn to use it. The author explains the Catholic theology of the term „nature” from the dogmatic theology point of view, theology of spirituality and from a pastoral point of view.

Streszczenie
Autor pokazał, że przez pojęcie „natura” możemy rozumieć charakterystyczny dla danego organizmu sposób funkcjonowania, wyłaniania z siebie działań, jego sposób istnienia, życia, rozwoju. Jeżeli uznajemy, że świat (i wszystko, co w nim istnieje) został stworzony przez Boga, to na naturę konkretnych rzeczy możemy popatrzeć jako na pewien projekt, który wymyślił Stwórca. Zarówno przyroda nieożywiona jak i ożywiona została zaprojektowana według Bożego pomysłu. Także człowiek otrzymał od Boga swoją naturę – zastaje ją, nie wybiera jej; stanowi ona dar wymagający „rozpieczętowania”, poznania, trzeba nauczyć posługiwać się nią. Autor wyjaśnia katolicką teologię terminu „natura” z punktu widzenie teologii dogmatycznej, teologii duchowości i z duszpasterskiego punktu widzenia.
