\u200e<\/strong> (ISSN 0208-7995) is an international theological journal dedicated to contemporary Catholic theology, philosophy, spirituality, and culture. The Polish edition \u2013 Communio \u2013 International Theological Review<\/em> \u2013 is part of a global network Communio International Catholic Review<\/em>.

The journal publishes research articles, review articles, essays, book reviews, and reports covering fields such as theology, biblical studies, bioethics, and Catholic social teaching. Its aim is to bridge Catholic Tradition with dialogue with the contemporary world. It provides a forum for debate for both established and emerging scholars, emphasizing methodological rigor. Articles appear in multiple languages \u200b\u200b(including Polish, English, German, French, and Ukrainian), thereby fostering international academic exchange.

Communio. International Theological Review<\/strong> is part of the international theological initiative Communio International Catholic Review<\/em>, established in 1972 by a group of prominent Catholic theologians including Hans Urs von Balthasar, Henri de Lubac, and Joseph Ratzinger.

The origins of \u200e<\/em> are closely connected with the theological renewal that followed the Second Vatican Council. In 1965, leading theologians and participants of the Council founded the international theological review Concilium<\/em>Over time, however, part of its editorial environment moved toward increasingly radical theological positions influenced by liberation theology. As a result, a group of theologians advocating a more Christocentric and ecclesial theological vision established a new international journal under the title \u200e<\/em>.

Thus, in 1972, a new international theological review, \u200e<\/em>was founded under the guiding motto: \u201cunity in diversity\u201d (unitas in pluralitate)<\/strong>This motto expresses the idea of theological dialogue rooted in ecclesial communion and openness to the richness of various theological traditions. The Polish theological milieu had already participated in international theological exchange during the years 1967-1971, when selected Polish editions of Concilium<\/em>were published by Pallottinum despite the limitations imposed by state censorship in communist Poland.

A major advocate of the Polish edition of \u200e<\/em> was Cardinal Karol Wojty\u0142a. After several unsuccessful attempts to obtain permission from the communist authorities, the publication project was entrusted to the Pallottinum publishing house. Official approval was granted after three years of efforts, and the first Polish issue of \u200e<\/em> appeared in 1981. Since then, the journal has been published continuously.

Open Access Policy<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t

Communio. International Theological Review<\/em> provides open access to its content in accordance with the principle that free and unrestricted access to scholarly research supports the global exchange of theological and interdisciplinary academic knowledge.

All articles published in the journal are made available online free of charge for readers and institutions. The journal does not charge any article processing charges (APCs), submission fees, or publication fees.

The journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution\u2013NonCommercial\u2013NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). Under this license, users are permitted to read, download, copy, and redistribute the published material in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided that proper attribution to the author and the journal is given. The published material may not be modified, transformed, or used to create derivative works without prior permission of the copyright holder.

Authors retain copyright to their published work while granting the journal the right of first publication. The Editorial Board supports open academic dialogue and the dissemination of theological scholarship within the international scientific community.
